Williamson County issues “Stay Home Stay Safe” Order
March 25, 2020
Stay Home Stay Safe
Williamson County, TEXAS
We are now subject to a countywide order to restrict our movements and prevent contact with others in order to slow the spread of the COVID-19 virus. Williamson County is one of a number of Texas Counties to issue a “Stay Home Stay Safe” order. A link to the full text of the order is posted below.
We don’t know how the order will be enforced by government and law enforcement. I hope that folks will read it and modify their daily activities to comply with the order in hopes of slowing the spread of COVID-19. I further hope that the government will use it to inform and educate citizens.
The order lists criminal penalties of up to 180 days in county jail and a possible fine up to $1000. If you or somebody you know is charged with a violation of the order, please call me for a legal consultation. Placing people in jail during this health crisis will not make us safer.
Best wishes to you and your loved ones.
